Two ER trips...

The week we moved to Star Valley was quite stressful. At the beginning of the week Carson was riding his bike down a steep hill, he had ridden down it before no problem, but this time he crashed hard. He cut open his chin and cracked a couple teeth. I called Keith immediately and he came home and took him to the ER. Five hours later he was stitched up but feeling horrible because the nerves in his two teeth were exposed. So the next day I took him to the dentist and the dentist had to extract those two (baby) teeth. It was quite the ordeal sitting at the dentist for close to three hours watching him go through so much. He also had to be put on a soft foods diet all week, so lots of jello made him a little more happy. I continued to pack the rest of the week and was so grateful my mom was able to come help us pack and move. We had so much help from ward members and friends with packing, loading, babysitting, cleaning and meals. We really did have an amazing Casper ward. So Saturday night rolls around and Mom and I head to Walmart to get some food for the trip. When I get home Keith is on his way to take Carson to the ER again because he fell off the UHAUL helping Keith load things and ripped some of his stitches open and knocked his front tooth back. So back to the ER he goes. I was so stressed about it all night, they got home around 1:00 am, neither of us got much sleep that night but we tried because we had a long six hour drive the next day. Sunday morning I called the dentist about his front tooth (baby) and he reassured me from pics I sent him and from what happened that it would be ok and he didn't need to come in. So we decided to head out, the actual drive wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, we made it to our new home and had help from my siblings unloading the UHAUL and unpacking which was super helpful. My sister stayed with me for a couple days to help with the twins, unpacking and food shopping. On Monday I decided we should see a Dr. here and have her look at his chin before he started school on Tuesday. So we went in, she took his stitches out and said it looked great. I was so happy to hear that since the UHAUL accident was just days before. On Tuesday (Aug 22nd) Carson started first grade! He said he had a great day, made some new friends and enjoyed his new school and teacher.

I'm so glad that crazy week in August is over and behind us. Now we can move on to the exciting fall activities, my trip to Rhode Island with my mom and the twins (this week), mine and the twins birthdays, Halloween etc...!! I'm just so glad we're finally MOVED!!! I do not like moving! But I have to say it is sooo much nicer being closer to family and a temple just down the street! I will have to write more on Star Valley in another post, but for now, some pics!

Carson had a late movie night party with his Casper buddies before we moved.

This picture of Ayla sums up my feelings about moving

Lots of eating out (or meals brought to us) the week we moved, Carson tried a Big Mac for the first time and gobbled that thing right up!

So peaceful where we live!

A growth update...

These two love solids, it took Cole awhile to warm up to them but he loves them now. They're both crawling and into everything. They love when their big brother makes them laugh. Cole is obsessed with the Piano Guys version of "A Thousand Years." That song will calm him down right away. Ayla says "mama" and "dada" and Cole will say "muuuumm" and "da da." They love taking things away from the other and following the other one around. These two sure keep me busy but it's so fun to watch them play together and explore the world around them. Ayla has 4 teeth and Cole has 2, although I think he's getting more.
We call Ayla "the griz" or Ayla Bear because she has so much hair. Cole's nickname is Cole Fred, Coley, or Big B (big business) our friend gave him that name because he's so serious. Proof in the pic below.

Longmire Days!

Anyone who knows me know Keith and I love the show Longmire, this year my friend Brooke and I were determined to make it to Longmire Days in Buffalo. I casually mentioned to Brooke that my favorite actor on the show is "Ferg" so she shows up to my house Friday with a Longmire shirt on that she had made and hands me my shirt. I fully expected our shirts to be matching but when I looked at it, it said, "Ferg-alicious," I busted up laughing and said it was perfect.

The whole 1.5 hour ride up to Buffalo, Keith and I were talking about how excited we were to see the actors. Brooke had gotten us tickets to an autograph session with the actors, when we got there though we quickly realized we were last in a very long line of anxious and excited people. So we bought some Longmire memorabilia and stood around debating if we wanted to wait in a superrr long line. Well....Brooke's genius shirt paid off (and our standing around) because "Ferg's" brother noticed me and my shirt and came over to us and asked to take a picture with us, after he left we looked over at the table of actors again and a few moments later "Ferg" noticed my shirt and his jaw dropped and a big smile formed on his face, he then motioned that he'd be over in a moment (leaving the super long line of people waiting to meet him and get his autograph). After Brooke and I realized he was coming over we started freaking out, when he came up to us I gave him a big hug and we chatted a bit....I remember him saying it was nice to see some "pretty girls" there, asked us where we were from, told me that he loved my shirt and that I made his day, then I told him "no, you made mine," and that he hoped to see us around. Also, when we were taking pictures he pulled out his phone and said he wanted a picture too. I told him he was my favorite and that Branch was Brooke's favorite. He also asked if I wanted anything signed, so he signed a Longmire sticker I bought then he asked if I wanted my shirt signed, so he signed it by the "Ferg." It was kinda surreal, I just love that show. It was so neat to see almost all the cast there.

Afterwards we headed to lunch and Brooke decided to check "Ferg's" instagram and see if he posted the picture, lo and behold, my face was on his instagram! We were so excited!! It pretty much made my day. There were other events the rest of the day and all day Saturday and Sunday--a parade, street dance, kids activities, tea with Ruby, poker run, a concert, auction and more, but most of it was on Saturday and Sunday and we didn't want to drive back up with all the kids again (and it was super hot) so we called it a day after walking around the town and looking at all the vendors. We went to a super cute park along the river and ate lunch then took the long way home through Crazy Woman Canyon (super pretty), then we headed over to Brooke and Jordan's for dinner. A super amazing day!!

4th of July!

This fourth of July was definitely one of my favorites. We spent the morning lazing in bed with the three babes and taking pictures while eating patriotic donuts. Around lunch time we headed over to our good friends the Wilmes' and bbqed while Carson and Emersyn played on the slip n slide and played with water balloons. We hung out for awhile then headed back home to prep for another bbq with more friends in the ward. We headed to a park in our neighborhood and it was seriously so fun just chillin' and chattin' with everyone that came. The kids decorated their bikes in red/white/blue and had a bike parade. We ate, chatted, listened to the music someone brought on a loud speaker and just had so much fun! We stayed for three hours and our friends were even setting up an outdoor movie but Carson had been so excited to go see the fireworks so we packed up and headed to the fireworks at the events center with the Wilmes'. Oh I just love the fourth of July and love Wyoming! We definitely had a great fourth with friends!
