Two ER trips...

The week we moved to Star Valley was quite stressful. At the beginning of the week Carson was riding his bike down a steep hill, he had ridden down it before no problem, but this time he crashed hard. He cut open his chin and cracked a couple teeth. I called Keith immediately and he came home and took him to the ER. Five hours later he was stitched up but feeling horrible because the nerves in his two teeth were exposed. So the next day I took him to the dentist and the dentist had to extract those two (baby) teeth. It was quite the ordeal sitting at the dentist for close to three hours watching him go through so much. He also had to be put on a soft foods diet all week, so lots of jello made him a little more happy. I continued to pack the rest of the week and was so grateful my mom was able to come help us pack and move. We had so much help from ward members and friends with packing, loading, babysitting, cleaning and meals. We really did have an amazing Casper ward. So Saturday night rolls around and Mom and I head to Walmart to get some food for the trip. When I get home Keith is on his way to take Carson to the ER again because he fell off the UHAUL helping Keith load things and ripped some of his stitches open and knocked his front tooth back. So back to the ER he goes. I was so stressed about it all night, they got home around 1:00 am, neither of us got much sleep that night but we tried because we had a long six hour drive the next day. Sunday morning I called the dentist about his front tooth (baby) and he reassured me from pics I sent him and from what happened that it would be ok and he didn't need to come in. So we decided to head out, the actual drive wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, we made it to our new home and had help from my siblings unloading the UHAUL and unpacking which was super helpful. My sister stayed with me for a couple days to help with the twins, unpacking and food shopping. On Monday I decided we should see a Dr. here and have her look at his chin before he started school on Tuesday. So we went in, she took his stitches out and said it looked great. I was so happy to hear that since the UHAUL accident was just days before. On Tuesday (Aug 22nd) Carson started first grade! He said he had a great day, made some new friends and enjoyed his new school and teacher.

I'm so glad that crazy week in August is over and behind us. Now we can move on to the exciting fall activities, my trip to Rhode Island with my mom and the twins (this week), mine and the twins birthdays, Halloween etc...!! I'm just so glad we're finally MOVED!!! I do not like moving! But I have to say it is sooo much nicer being closer to family and a temple just down the street! I will have to write more on Star Valley in another post, but for now, some pics!

Carson had a late movie night party with his Casper buddies before we moved.

This picture of Ayla sums up my feelings about moving

Lots of eating out (or meals brought to us) the week we moved, Carson tried a Big Mac for the first time and gobbled that thing right up!

So peaceful where we live!

A growth update...

These two love solids, it took Cole awhile to warm up to them but he loves them now. They're both crawling and into everything. They love when their big brother makes them laugh. Cole is obsessed with the Piano Guys version of "A Thousand Years." That song will calm him down right away. Ayla says "mama" and "dada" and Cole will say "muuuumm" and "da da." They love taking things away from the other and following the other one around. These two sure keep me busy but it's so fun to watch them play together and explore the world around them. Ayla has 4 teeth and Cole has 2, although I think he's getting more.
We call Ayla "the griz" or Ayla Bear because she has so much hair. Cole's nickname is Cole Fred, Coley, or Big B (big business) our friend gave him that name because he's so serious. Proof in the pic below.

  1. Poor Carson! I'm glad the move went well. The babies are so big now! I love the pics. SO excited to see you in less than 2 days!
