Me-N-Bono

So last Tuesday Keith and I got to do something that is on my bucket list! Go to a U2 concert! We both absolutely love love love U2. It is one of our favorite bands. When we were dating we would always listen to their greatest hits cd on roadtrips to Boise and Utah. We have all the words memorized to our favorite songs. Our favorite is "With or without You" They have so many great hits. The thing about U2 is everybody knows who they are! At the concert in SLC there were old people, middle-aged, teens, young adults, and even kids there! They have a pretty big fan base. I can also say that Bono knows how to put on a concert! HE is a crazy awesome entertainer! We had so much fun rocking out to their songs and singing our hearts out. On Thursday we got to meet up with my niece Chelsea who is getting married next month and we were able to meet her awesome fiance James! They are so cute together! I also got to see one of my best friends Kathryn who moved down to Utah a few months ago (booo you need to move back to Boise) we went to a place called The Chocolate in Orem and ordered a cazookie! A huge cookie that has two different cookie batters in one  with ice cream. Here are some pictures.

Family Pics!!

So my amazing sister Shiree is such a fabulous photographer! She took our family pictures for us on Saturday the 21st. These are some of my favorites. Carson wasn't really looking at the camera in any of them but he is still so little so it's hard to get him to look.

Top 10 Reasons why I LOVE living in Boise

1. Family- I love being minutes instead of hours away from my family. It's so nice to be able to spend time with my sisters and go shopping or just hang out. I love that Carson has so many cousins here in Boise to play with.

My amazing FAMILY (all 17 of us)

2. Friends- Although we have been quite busy getting settled in and I haven't had much time to hang out with my old high school friends yet I'm so excited to be so close to them again! A lot of them have babies Carson's age too so thats a plus! Emily, Mary, Danni, Nichole, Brittany I can't wait to hang out! Kathryn you need to move back to Boise then it would be complete.

Em and Kathryn some of my Best girlfriends.

3. The Greenbelt- I LOVE LOVE LOVE the greenbelt! I could ride or walk the greenbelt everyday and never get sick of it! It is so pretty! I love that Boise is such a bike friendly city. The greenbelt is definitely one of my favorite things about Boise.

4. Downtown- I love just going downtown and walking around on a nice day. I love that Boise is big but isn't too big. And sadly I know it's only going to grow but I love the size it is right now. It always gets rated in magazines for one of the best cities to live, raise a family, business friendly, etc. and secretly I get mad about that cuz I don't want people to move here and make it a big city....it's perfect the way it is. I love just walking around downtown shopping and trying out new restaurants.

5. The Parks- There are so many beautiful parks in Boise. Like so MANY!! I was used to only having three parks to go to in Rexburg and now I have like a bajillion! not really but seriously I love the parks here they are so big and a lot of them are right on the greenbelt. A few of my favorites are Camel's Back, Ann Morrison, and Kathryn Albertsons.

6. The Weather- Need I say more? It's a lot warmer and less bi-polar than Rexburg. Seriously Rexburg would go through all four seasons in one day. Not here nice warm and sunny, but I love that they still get all four seasons but not to the extreme in one season.

8. Location- I love that my apartment is literally minutes from shopping,  the movies, church, restaurants, downtown, the freeway, the airport, the temple, family, friends. Seriously I am so close to everything I LOVE it! I couldn't have asked for a better location. In Rexburg we had to drive like 30 minutes just to get to Winco or a good restaurant and the airport was almost four hours away!

9. Boise State Football- I'm so excited to actually be in Boise now for the games instead of in tiny little Rexburg watching the game on my flatscreen with my doritios. Seriously so much better to actually live it than dream it.

10. Home- I feel like I'm home now. When I was in Rexburg we were always taking trips to Boise and I hated hated hated going back to Rexburg when Boise felt like home. I dreaded those drives and now I never have to take that drive again!  I LOVE it. I'm excited about raising my family here. I think it is the perfect place to raise our family. I loved growing up here and am so excited about having my kids get to experience the same things I did growing up. I get to show them all the places I went to when I was little and they get to be a part of them. Born and raised.....Boise is and always will be home.

Little Carson Man Updates

So Carson is just growing growing growing! I can't believe how big he has gotten. He is already wearing some of his six month clothes and he won't even be four months until the 29th!! Keith and I just love our little guy so much and are so happy to have him as part of our family. Here are a few things Carson loves.

Holding his head up! It seemed to happen overnight! (he's been doing it for awhile now)
Smiling! Smiles Smiles Smiles all the time.
Cooing
Sucking on his hand
Loves when mom talks to him in baby voice and touches his nose
Eating Eating Eating
3 Naps a day
Bedtime around 8:30--9:00 and sleeps about 6 hours
In the middle of eating just stopping and staring at mom and smiling
Baths
Car rides (esp. when he's tired)

We just love this little guy so much and are so glad that he has met most of the Lewis and Penrod families. He loves hanging out with his cousins. So glad that he has 30 of them just on my side! I still need to get the most recent pics I've taken of us/him with family and cousins so forgive me for now but I will have those up soon. Here are a few pics my sister shae took of him while we were just playing around one day.

Our New Home

So many of you know that we moved to Boise at the end of March. We are absolutely loving it here. We live so close to shopping, movies, the freeway, the mall, restaurants, the airport, family and downtown. I think in our first week back from New Jersey once we moved in we went to the greenbelt almost everyday! I love the greenbelt so much! The weather has also been a lot I mean A LOT better here than in Rexburg. I love it! I'm wearing shorts! That wouldn't happen until like July in Rexburg. Although one thing we sure do miss about Rexburg is our good friends. It's nice to be able to see all my good high school friends again though. Hey you Rexburg friends if you ever need to get out of Rexy and want some nice weather seriously come stay with us! We would love to have you :)

Beautiful Boise

So a lot has happened in the past few months. Our precious Carson was born in January and he is growing like CRAZY! Seriously he is getting so big! It's bittersweet. In March we moved to Boise and the next day headed out to New Jersey for a fun vacation so Keith's parents could meet little Carson. We were only supposed to stay a little over a week but it ended up being a three week vacation because I got those stupid kidney stones again (second time after having carson) and Keith also got sick. Some of the highlights from New Jersey included; Carson's blessing (my mom was able to fly out for that), a day in Philadelphia, the Cape May Zoo, the beach, and Atlantic City. We always have a blast when we go to New Jersey. Can't wait to go again! Although I can say that I hate flying with a baby especially when you have two layovers and you're flying Delta! ugh! Anyway....That about sums up our busy busy past few months. We moved into our apartment almost two weeks ago and we LOVE it!! We are so excited for the summer activities--our favorites--camping and swimming. So happy to be home! (p.s. sorry I didn't post more pics I need to upload them from my camera)

My New Blog

So I'm attempting this whole blog thing. I'm completely new to the blogging world so we'll see how it goes, but I'm excited to keep up with others through their blogs and to keep others updated with our little family.

I'm late posting this but HAPPY MOTHERS DAY  to all you mothers! I had such a wonderful day with my family. Keith made me breakfast in bed---strawberry waffles--my favorite! He also got me a gift card to my favorite clothing store. After church we spent the day at my moms with all my family that lives in Boise. We had a some good hawaiian haystacks for dinner and fun chatting. I was so excited because my little sister and best friend Misti who is on a mission in Paraguay got to skype us! It was so awesome to not only get to talk to her but to see her! She is doing so well and her spanish is coming along great! She has been out for five months including the time she spent in the MTC. I miss her so much but I know she is doing such a great job as a missionary in Paraguay and that's where the Lord wants and needs her right now. I'm already so excited for her to come home in a little over a year! I write her every week and love hearing from her.

A little tribute to my mom.....So I just have to express how grateful I am for my mother and the person she is. I am seriously so blessed to call her my mother. She is the most selfless, patient, kind, loving, spiritual, christ-like, full of service, beautiful woman I know. She has taught me so much about life and what's important. SHe has dedicated her life to the Lord and to raising 15 children. She not only loves and serves her children unconditionally but also others around her. I have never heard her speak ill of anyone and she is always positive. She is such a great example of who I want to become. She never complains and she is always there to lend a helping hand to anyone, not just her family but anyone. She always has stories to tell and can talk for hours. She is AMAZING. Words can't even describe the person she is because they don't do justice. I love her and am so grateful to call her my mother. I LOVE YOU MOM. Happy Mothers Day.
