We seem to have this pattern going where every three years we move. We lived in Rexburg for three years after we got married, then Boise for 3.5 years and Casper for three years next month. Our time in Casper has come to an end, we've loved it here but Keith has accepted a job transfer and he will be over the Jackson Hole/Star Valley area and parts of Idaho. It's his absolute dream area and I have to agree that it's one of the most beautiful parts of the country. We'll be within an hour drive of Jackson Hole, Bear Lake, Palisades, Grand Teton National Park and a little over two hours from Yellowstone.
We will be moving to the Star Valley, Wyoming area. Star Valley is made up of 12 towns, the largest town being about 2,000 people. So this move is going to be quite an adjustment to what we're used to since the whole valley is about 7,000 people. I'm excited for the small town feel, a tight knit community, to spend more time outdoors and make new memories in a new place. We feel like this will be such a great place to raise our family as there's a temple just down the street and it's a strong LDS community. We will be so much closer to family in Idaho Falls and Logan and just over five hours from most of my family in Boise, instead of 11+ hours.
We really have enjoyed our three years in Casper, we've made great friends, were a part of three wonderful wards, explored new places, learned so much about Wyoming, bought our first house, Carson attended preschool and kindergarten here and our Wyoming babies were born here.
I made some great friends here that I'll never forget. The day we moved in we met our neighbors- Athena and her family and instantly became great friends. They've since moved to Oklahoma but we had so many great memories with them. I'll miss the other great friends we have in our ward and Carson will sure miss his.
Oh how I will miss you Egginton's, you will forever be my favorite.
Once we sell our house we are headed out on our new adventure in Star Valley. We still have yet to look at homes over there in person but have found a few we really like online.
So if any of you are looking for a summer getaway, come visit us in SV! So much to do outdoors and the beauty is unreal! I mean it doesn't get much prettier than the Tetons, Palisades (I practically die every time I drive through there in the fall) and the beauty of Star Valley.
We are so excited for this new adventure and we expect to stay a lot longer than three years. :)

The biggest town in Star Valley and currently where my favorite home on the market is, so we may be calling Afton home. |

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! James and I would LOVE to visit. It probably won't be until after residency, so please stay there for more than 2 years at least :)
