Penrod Photoshoot 8.20.11

So the Penrod's had their second photoshoot and it turned out great! Carson did a lot better this time looking at the camera and he is also sitting up now so that made it nice for individual shots of him. My sister Shae's husband Mark took the pictures and Shae edited them. Didn't they do a great job?! Although photoshoots are usually stressful with babies I love doing them and looking at the pics. Here are some of the pics for your enjoyment:)

Missing Someone......

Miss this face. He's in Montana, I'm in Boise. Life just isn't as fun without this boy. Carson and I miss daddy.

On a random note: thinking about going to the Boise Balloon Classic this weekend. Any of you Boiseans been before?

Carson is 7 months today!! can you believe it!!?? I can't! He just got his first tooth and the second one is popping up too!

He is almost crawling. Wiggles and scoots himself from place to place, he will be crawling in no time!

What's the Largest Capital City?

Betcha didn't know that Phoenix, Arizona is the largest capital city in the U.S.--cuz I didn't either! I thought for sure it had to be some big state like California, New York, or Texas, but all of their biggest cities aren't the capitals. Crazy huh. We are here in Phoenix for two weeks for Keith's work. All I can say is MAN IT IS HOT HERE! It's around 115 during the day and in the early morning and at night between 8-9 o'clock it's still in the 90s. I don't know how anyone can live here permanently, personally it is way too hot for me and I like to have seasons and snow on Christmas but it does have it's own beauty here with the palm trees and cacti. We've had fun staying here at the Marriott- swimming in the pool and loving their yummy breakfasts. Saturday we went to a MLB game- the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. The New York Mets. Arizona won. It was a super hot day and we were dying in the heat, once we got our tickets and didn't know what to expect- if the stadium was outdoors, if they had drinking fountains etc. so we stocked up on water and got prepared for the game- --once we walked into the stadium we found that it was air conditioned, indoors, and plenty of bathrooms and drinking fountains! HALLELUIAH!! We had so much fun taking little man to his first MLB game--and mee too!! Last Friday and yesterday (Sunday) we hung out with my niece Chelsea and her husband James. They live in Glendale while James is going to Med School at MidWestern. We had soooo much fun catching up with them, eating dinner, and chatting. It was also nice to go to church with people we know instead of going to some random ward not knowing  anyone. I wish they lived closer to us (near Boise) because we would be hanging out with them all the time--we had a blast!

Here are some pics of our trip so far.......

Keith and Carson swimming at the hotel pool--I was tanning off to the side :)

IHOP for breakfast! Look at how grown up little man looks!

I was excited about In-N-Out for dinner. They have so many of them here in AZ

Walking to the game. Love the Palm Trees!

Chillin at the game. Ignore our sweatiness and my no make-up face. We had fun once we got into the air conditioned indoor stadium.

Little man at his first MLB game!

There was an indoor pool and hot tub in the stadium!

The indoor stadium!

Hanging out with Chelsea and James on Sunday

Can you believe they are cousins?

We are having fun here in Arizona but I am excited to get back to Boise. The fair in Boise starts just in time- right when we get back. I haven't been to the Western Idaho Fair in years because we've been living in Eastern Idaho so we've always gone to the Eastern Idaho Fair in Blackfoot so I'm excited for a bigger and better one and for some cooler temps!.

One CRAZY Summer

Summer 2011 sure has been a crazy one for the Penrod family, between traveling to different cities/towns for Keith's work and all the other family events and things going on in Boise it sure has kept us busy.  It's been so hot here it Boise that we've been doing a lot of swimming. My two nephews Anthony and Austin from Alaska are in town for a few weeks so we've been doing a lot of stuff with them. Last Friday (29th) I came back from Jackson Hole and Keith got home the following Wednesday. Here is a glimpse in pictures of what we've been up to this past week.

Chillin' at Ann Morrison Park right after floating the river

And for tomorrow- Saturday....riding the greenbelt, Kuna Days, my niece Jasilyn's baptism, and a dutch oven dinner with all my family.

It's been quite the week busy doing something every day. Next week we are off again to another fun city. Can't wait!

Side note: If you haven't seen the 80s movie "One Crazy Summer" with John Cusack- go rent it! It's hilarious. I love 80s movies and I love John Cusack. It sure will make you laugh :)
